Operational Leaders Conference
Hosted by Rail Partners and Network Rail, the Operational leaders conference will take place on 15 May in Birmingham.
The event brings together operational leaders from both train operating companies and the infrastructure manager to identify how they can work more closely with each other to improve outcomes for railway users.
This is a full day event offering valuable insights from those who have worked on both sides of the operations track, and on the wider operational landscape – with plenty of opportunities for attendees to interact with speakers and each other, through panel sessions and a workshop.
On the agenda:
- Andy Bagnall, chief executive, Rail Partners – an industry update in the context of the upcoming General Election, and reform agenda
- How to deliver for the customer – Tim Shoveller, Freightliner, looks at customer delivery from the perspective of someone working for a passenger or freight operator, or within Network Rail
- Trenitalia on how other complex railways manage operations – with lessons from around Europe
- Ben Rule, HS2 on how to think strategically about the future of train operations, with insights from the HS2 project
- Gunnar Lindahl and Matt Pocock on their Network Rail and TOC operations job swap – what did they learn?
- Workshop session for all attendees led by Natalie Allen (Network Rail), focusing on customer challenges, stranded trains, joint controls, keeping trains moving, trespass and more.
